Jung Hoo Lee moves up to fifth as Giants close first half

The broader Giants picture is harder. San Francisco sat near the bottom of the National League West into the All-Star break, with Seattle next on the post-break road trip. Trade-deadline reporting has treated Lee as a complicated asset: young enough and productive enough to draw interest, signed to a multi-year contract in the $113 million range with an opt-out after 2027, and publicly grouped with ace Logan Webb among players the front office has been reluctant to shop. That reluctance is not the same as a frozen market. Local and national reporting has continued to note that if San Francisco wants a larger prospect return, Lee is one of the few movable pieces who could theoretically command it.
