Four wins, and she is fourth in scoring.

Jeeno Thitikul won the LOTTE Championship in Hawaii on Oct. 4, her fourth LPGA title of the year, and the next-best finish on her card is still a tie for fourth. Through Oct. 25 she was fourth in scoring, at 69.81. As of Wednesday she was second in the Race to the CME Globe, with 11 top 10s in 18 starts.

In February she won the Honda LPGA Thailand at 24 under, and the Sunday was a 68. In May she defended the Mizuho Americas Open at 13 under, and the Sunday was a 69. In August she won the Standard Portland Classic at 22 under. The Sunday there was a 64, the lowest closing round she has shot in a win this year. Hawaii was 21 under, by three, and the Sunday was another 68. She has not won a tournament this season with a Sunday of 70 or higher.

A Sunday 69 has also been a 50th. At the Ford Championship in late March she closed with a 69 and finished 50th, nine under, the worst weekend on her card. Nelly Korda was second that same week, at 26 under. Six weeks later, at the Mizuho, a Sunday 69 was the round she won with.

She played all five majors and won none of them. At the Chevron in April she missed the cut, 74 and 73. Korda won that week by five, at 18 under. At the U.S. Women’s Open, Thitikul was three over and tied for 28th, with a Sunday 73. Korda won there, too.

Haeran Ryu won the next two. At the Women’s PGA Championship, Thitikul was six under and tied for eighth, and the Sunday was a 70. At the Evian she was 11 under and tied for 10th, and the Sunday was another 70. The week she got into the hunt was the AIG Women’s Open. She opened with a 64, then went 73, 72, and 73, and tied for fourth. That is as close as she has been to a major this year, and she got there by giving back the start.

Last year the wins and the scores arrived together. She won three times, the last of them the CME Group Tour Championship, and she led the tour at 68.68, a record. She had 14 top 10s in 20 starts, eight of them inside the top three. She was Player of the Year, and she won the Vare Trophy for that average. This year’s average is a little more than a stroke higher, and she has one more win.

Korda is not having the quieter year. Through Oct. 25 she led the scoring list at 69.38, about four tenths of a stroke ahead of Thitikul, and she has four wins as well. She has skipped the fall swing in Asia, so the 69.38 has not moved since the start of October. Ryu was second at 69.44. Japan’s Miyu Yamashita was third at 69.64.

Between Hawaii and this week she played once. In Shanghai, where she was the defending champion, she opened 69, went 73 and 74, and closed 69. She tied for eighth, three under. After that week her scoring average was 69.81, up from 69.71 through Oct. 4. The tie for eighth paid 85 points, and she went from 2,830.375 after Hawaii to 2,915.375 as of Wednesday. She was not in the field the next week at the BMW Ladies Championship in Haenam. Yuri Yoshida won it.

She also missed the cut at the Meijer LPGA Classic in June, 74 and 70. At the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore she finished 31st. There is no second on the card, and no third. Last year eight of her weeks finished inside the top three. This year the only ones are the wins.

Hawaii was her 11th LPGA title, one short of Ariya Jutanugarn’s 12, and the first time Thitikul has won four in a season. A Thai player had not done that since Jutanugarn’s five in 2016. The ranking published Oct. 26 still had her No. 2 in the world. She is in the field this week at the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur.
